BBK DAV COLLEGE FOR WOMEN CELEBRATES HINDI DIWAS AND FELICITATES STUDENTS’ COUNCIL MEMBERS WITH BADGES

BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor. During the event, members of the Discipline Committee, Students’ Council, and NSS Volunteers were felicitated and presented with badges.

Padma Shri Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh was the Chief Guest for the event.

While Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia highlighted the vital role that mother tongues play in shaping individual and collective identities. She emphasized that a mother tongue is not merely a tool for communication but is also the medium of our earliest dreams, thoughts, and the natural expression that emanates from within.

Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, in his address, said that Hindi, as one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, unites millions of people across diverse regions, cultures, and communities and acts as a bridge of unity in India’s multilingual society, embodying the nation’s ethos of “unity in diversity.” He concluded his speech by citing his magnum opus Satyarth Prakash (The Light of Truth), highlighting its profound impact on shaping Hindi as a vehicle for reformist thought and social change.

Dr. Anita Narinder, Head, Department of Hindi, conducted the proceedings of the event. Dr. Simardeep, Dean, Academics, Ms. Kamayani, Dean, Student Council, Ms. Jaspreet Bedi and students from Hindi Department also attended the event.
