BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, celebrated Daan Utsav with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of social responsibility, aligning with the spirit of a week-long festival National Daan Utsav encouraging voluntary acts of giving. The college organized various charitable and outreach activities aimed at supporting local communities.
As part of the initiative, the NSS Units of the college visited Shehzada and Bedi Channa villages to distribute flood relief material to affected families. Essential supplies, including food items, clothing, sanitary materials, and daily-use goods, were provided to help the villagers rebuild their lives after the devastation caused by recent floods. The faculty of the college interacted with villagers, identifying urgent needs and offering support with empathy and care.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia expressed pride in the college’s commitment to community service. She added that Daan Utsav is a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness lead to a meaningful change.
Dr. Anita Narendra, Dean Community Welfare, Dr. Naresh, Dean Youth Welfare, Mr. Hardeep, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications, Ms. Surbhi Sethi, NSS Program Officers, were also present during the event.
