BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, celebrated Constitution Day on 26th November 2025 with a series of events highlighting the significance of the Indian Constitution. Ms. Surbhi Sethi, NSS Programme Officer, in her welcome address, emphasized the Constitution’s vital role in guiding the nation’s progress. The event also commemorated the 150th Birth Anniversaries of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Bhagwan Birsa Munda, as well as the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia led the faculty and students in solemnly affirming their commitment to uphold the core values enshrined in the Constitution. In her address, she highlighted the significance of the Preamble and urged the students and staff to conscientiously discharge their duties as responsible citizens, thereby advancing the nation’s progress and empowerment.
The event also featured an elocution competition, in which Harman (+2 Commerce) and Krishna (+2 Non-Medical) secured the 1st position, Gurman (+1 Arts) and Shirin (+2 Commerce) won the 2nd position, while Manchandan (+2 Commerce) achieved the 3rd position. The competition was followed by a self-composed poem by Mr. Jagmeet Singh, PG Department of Punjabi, celebrating the spirit of Constitution Day.
Dr. Anita Narendra, Dean, Community Development Initiatives, Ms. Jijina Gupta, Head, PG Department of English, Ms. Surbhi Sethi and Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal, NSS Programme Officers, along with other faculty members were present on the occasion.
