To seek divine blessings of the Almighty and give an auspicious start to the new year, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised a special havan on 1st January, 2026. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Committee, and Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, performed the duties of Yajman on the occasion.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia offered a prayer of gratitude to God and wished the peace, prosperity and happiness for all. Highlighting the significance of group prayer, she said that it generates powerful spiritual vibrations. She further added that places of worship serve as energy centres that radiate positivity and inner strength. Praying for the unparalleled progress of the college, she reaffirmed her commitment to leading the institution towards greater heights of grandeur and glory.
Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor extended his best wishes to all and urged them to exercise self-control over anger, lust, greed, attachment, and ego for achieving success in life.
The havan concluded with the recitation of Shanti Paath and a devotional song presented by the Department of Music. On this occasion, members of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, enthusiastically participated in the havan and prayed for the wellbeing of the college.
