BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised a special lecture to celebrate the pious occasion of the inauguration of Shree Ram Mandir. Padma Shri (Dr.) Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, was the main speaker, while Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director of Amritsar Group of Colleges, and former Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Technical University, was the chief guest for the occasion.
Addressing the audience, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that on the sacred occasion of the inauguration of Shree Ram Mandir, we find ourselves truly fortunate to bear witness to this momentous event—a historic milestone in our lives. She further added that the ability to partake in the celebration of this grand occasion, after an enduring wait of 500 years, fills our hearts with immense joy and reverence.
Dr. Bedi delivered an enlightening and spiritually uplifting lecture on the significance of the historic event of the inauguration of Shree Ram Mandir. He said that this historic event should be witnessed as a symbol of patriotism, nationalism, and unity, embodying the core values of the Indian ethos. He added that the ethical framework and moral values integral to our culture find resonance in the tales and narratives of Ram Katha. He further said that Shree Ram’s presence is woven intricately into the fabric of Punjab’s stories, folk songs, and literature, shaping a cultural narrative that reflects the enduring spirit of our heritage.
Dr. Rajneesh Arora congratulated Principal Dr. Walia on organising an uplifting and enriching talk. During the event, he said that the inauguration of Shree Ram Mandir was not merely a religious event but a patriotic programme, which is significant in showcasing India’s glory and grandeur on the global stage. Advocate Vipan Bhasin, a Senior Member, Local Advisory Committee, said that with the inauguration of Shree Ram Mandir, Ram Ji has come alive from the annals of history and the new generation has now been acquainted well with charismatic personality of Shree Ram Ji.
Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Advisory Committee, urged the audience to strive to embody the virtues exemplified by Shree Ram in their daily lives – a call for restraint, discipline, obedience, and the commitment to keeping promises. Certificates were awarded to the winners of the slogan and poster-making competitions. A devotional bhajan was also presented.
On this occasion, members of Arya Samaj, namely, Mr. Jawahar Lal Mehra, Mr. Atul Mehra, Mr. Anil Vinayak, Mr. Kamal Kapoor from RSS, Dr. Pallavi Sethi, Principal, DAV Public School, Advocate Vipan Bhasin, a Senior Member, Local Advisory Committee and the faculty members, were present.
