BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised a holy havan as an auspicious start to the New Year on January 1, 2025. To seek the blessings of God, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia and Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Committee, along with members of the teaching and non-teaching staff, prayed for the progress, prosperity and well-being of the college. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia and Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor served as the chief yajman on the occasion.
At the outset, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia offered aahutis into the sacred fire and explained the scientific significance of havan as well as the meaning of Ten Rules of Arya Samaj. Subsequently, she inaugurated the seven-day special NSS Camp and motivated the NSS volunteers to value the importance of community service in life. She further enumerated the various achievements of the college, especially the recent success of the five-day Inter-state Junior Red Cross Training -cum-study Camp in which the collegiate school lifted the Overall Championship Trophy.
Welcoming the new year, Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairperson, Local Committee, extended his best wishes to everyone and highlighted the significance of love, peace and compassion in life.
The havan concluded with the recitation of shanti mantras and devotional songs presented by the Department of Music.
