College organizes Havan Yajna at Arya Samaj, Lohgarh, Amritsar

Arya Yuvti Sabha of  BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, performed annual Havan Yajna at the historical Arya Samaj, Lohgarh, in which Sh. J.P. Shoor, President, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab, was the Chief Guest and Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Committee, was the Yajman for the occasion.

In her address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, expressed her gratitude to the Almighty and extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests. She said that the DAV institutions have originated from the Arya Samaj, which is neither a religion nor a sect but a Vedic ideology that continues to uplift Indian society. She further remarked that inspired by the legacy of Arya Samaj founder Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati and visionaries like Mahatma Hansraj and Mahatma Anand Swami, Arya Ratna Dr. Punam Suri, a Padma Shri awardee and President of the DAV Management Committee and Arya Pradeshik Sabha, New Delhi, has spearheaded transformative societal change through the promotion of education across all DAV institutions. She also shared a detailed account of the Vedic activities and achievements of the college in the year 2024.

Sh. J.P. Shoor extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Pushpinder Walia for organizing such a grand event and applauded her leadership. He emphasized that BBK DAV College holds a distinguished position. Referring to the life of Mahatma Anand Swami, he said that the primary objective of Arya Samaj is to become an Arya and inspire others to do the same, as this is the key to global welfare.

College’s Department of Music presented a melodious hymn which created an atmosphere filled with the essence of Om. Principal Dr. Walia honoured senior members of Arya Samaj with mementos. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor extended heartfelt thanks to all attendees. Havan Yajna concluded with the recitation of the Shanti Path.

Rakesh Mehra, Sh. Sandeep Ahuja, Sh. Deepak Mahajan, Sh. Gaurav Talwar, Sh. Inderpal Arya, Sh. Munish Khanna, Sh. Atul Mehra, Mrs. Renu Ghai, and Sh. Anil Vinayak, along with Sh. Salil Kapoor, and Mrs. Balbir Kaur Bedi as well as the faculty of the college were present on the occasion.
