A special Vedic Havan Yagya to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Anand Swami Ji, was held in BBK DAV College for Women. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia and Advocate Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Advisory Committee, served as the primary Yajmans.
In her address, Principal Dr. Walia expressed gratitude to the Almighty and while seeking divine blessings, she paid a solemn tribute to Anand Swami Ji and Swami Dayanand Ji. Reflecting upon the life of Mahatma Anand Swami, she said that his exemplary character embodied the ideals and principles of the Arya Samaj. She further stated that the principal goal of his life was to elevate and propagate Vedic culture.
Shri Inderpal Arya, President, Arya Samaj, Shakti Nagar, honored the legacy of Maharishi Dayanand Ji, Mahatma Anand Swami Ji, and Lala Lajpat Rai, alluding to their contributions to the Arya Samaj movement and the greater cause of humanity. He also spoke about the books written by Mahatma Anand Swami Ji, urging everyone to draw inspiration from the lives of such great luminaries.
Advocate Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Advisory Committee, congratulated Principal Dr. Walia and the college staff for successfully organizing the event. He emphasized Mahatma Anand Swami Ji’s lifelong dedication to the Arya Samaj and his tireless service to humanity. The event was further enriched by a soulful bhajan, “Mera Jeevan Tere Hawale Prabhu” (My Life is in Your Hands, Lord), presented by the Department of Music. Dr. Anita Narendra conducted the stage proceedings.
A noteworthy highlight of the event was an exhibition on Vedas and Vedic hymns, organized by the Department of Applied Art. Ms. Kamayani, Ms. Jaspreet, Mr. Hardeep, Dr. Sushil Kumar, and Dr. Sweety Bala presented reviews of various books written by Mahatma Anand Swami Ji, such as Haridwar Ka Prasad, Ek Hi Raasta, Vedic Satyanarayan Virat Katha, Sukhi Grihastha, Who’s Wealth, Bade Darbar Ka Gayak, and Maa Gayatri Mantra.
Advocate Sh. Vipin Bhasin, Member, Local Advisory Committee, Smt. And Sh. Dinesh Arya, Arya Samaj, Shakti Nagar, Sh. Atul Mehra, Arya Samaj, Model Town, Sh. Inderjit Thukral, Arya Samaj, Putlighar, Smt. Renu Ghai, Smt. and Sh. Harish Oberoi, Sh. Anil Vinayak and Smt. Neena Kapoor, Arya Samaj, Lawerence Road, along with the college office bearers, non-teaching staff, and a large number of students attended the event.
The event concluded with the distribution of Prasad, marking the successful culmination of the Havan Yagya.
