The PG Department of Punjabi, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar curated a Nukkad Natak inspired by the verses of Surjit Patar, on the theme ‘Bhasha Vahinda Dariya‘. This initiative aimed to enlighten students about the historical evolution and significance of the Punjabi language, emphasizing the importance of Maa Boli, Punjabi as the mother tongue. S.Pritpal Singh from Bhagat Namdev Ji Theatre Society, Ghuman, Gurdaspur, gave a wonderful solo theatrical presentation on the subject.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia commended the PG Department of Punjabi for this venture. She said that one should take pride in embracing and speaking Maa Boli, Punjabi, highlighting the enduring significance, revered by the Sikh Gurus through the sacred script of Gurmukhi, affirming it as the language of the Gurus.
Dr. Paramjit Kaur conducted the stage and Dr. Sunita Sharma presented a vote of thanks. Dr. Rani, Head, PG Department of Punjabi, Dr. Naresh Kumar, Dean, Youth Welfare, along with Dr. Priyanka Bassi, Associate Dean, Youth Welfare, affirming it as the language of the Gurus. Dr. Rashmi Kalia, and students of the college were also present on the occasion.
