During its 2 days visit, of the special seven days camp, NSS Unit of BBK DAV College for Women visited Government Middle School and Government Elementary School, Malawali, Amritsar. The aim of the visit was to acquaint students with certain designing and painting techniques as well as some useful topics of Chemistry and Physics.
At Government Middle School, Ms. Deepika Verma and Ms. Ishwinder from Department of Home Science introduced students with designing textures and fabric painting techniques respectively. Students were also given note-books, pens, clothes and eatables.
At Government Elementary School, Ms. Vandana Gupta from Department of Chemistry familiarised students with topics such as fumes without fire, osmosis and reverse osmosis, magic flowers, liquid moving art and friction. Ms. Vandana Rawat from Department of Physics acquainted students with topics such as vacuum cleaner, burning of a candle, blowing off a candle using ENO, measuring of temperature using thermometer, and magnet and its properties.
Christmas was also celebrated with them and 150 students were given note-books, pens and eatables. 12 trees namely molsari, srimol, swanjana and amaltass were planted in the village in collaboration with Nanhi Chaan.
Appreciating the noble efforts of the unit members, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that students are nation builders, and therefore for the progress of any nation, we should all share our knowledge with the future of the nation.
On this occasion, NSS Programme Officers Ms. Surbhi Sethi, Ms. Priya Sharma and other team members namely Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal , Ms. Priyanka Chug, Dr. Sahil Gupta, Mr. Palwinder Singh, Dr. Harminder Singh and Ms. Ravinderpal Kaur were also present.
