A two-day workshop on Fabric Painting was organized by PG Department of Home-Science & Fashion Designing, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar. The workshop was attended by the students of BA, B.Sc Semester-II and M.Sc Fashion Design & Merchandising Semester-II. The session was presided over by a very creative freelancer, Mrs. Bharti. The workshop was quite informative and loaded with novel techniques of painting in the field of fashion designing. The students learnt a variety of methods of ‘Applique work’ using 3-D outliner and incense sticks. They made fashionable jewellery using fabric paints and fevicol.
The students got an amazing opportunity to explore the unfathomable ocean of creativity. The workshop stirred the students’ minds to think of new and easy ways of creating traditional embroidery using contemporary painting techniques. Later in the workshop, students also focused their curiosity on jewellery made from wooden planks, shilpkar and fevicol.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia expressed her great satisfaction over the success of the workshop. She thanked the resource person, Mrs. Bharti for updating the knowledge of students and congratulated the Department of Design for organising such a fruitful activity.
