NCC (National Cadet Corps)

RULES

NCC now is of three years duration & the cadets have to attend one camp for B Certificate Exam and two camps for C certificate. Students enrolled under NCC shall be required to attend 40 parades in a session, as per schedule, notified by the college. NCC cadets must collect their uniform from the NCC store at the beginning of the session and attend the parades regularly.

INCENTIVES & WEIGHTAGE

The college provides liberal fee concessions and cash awards to outstanding NCC cadets, other than the following incentives:

A weightage of 5 percent on the aggregate marks is given in Nursing Courses and B. Ed.

Awards and Scholarships for NCC cadets of categories A, B & C are mentioned below: –

Category (A)

  • Participation in RDC, or Youth Exchange Programme: (only university fee charges).

Category (B)

  • Selection in ALC, BLC, NIC, Mountaineering, Vayu Sainik Camp, Thal Sainik Camp, National Competitions, Gold Medalists and outstanding cadets: Fee Concession worth Rs.3,500 per year.
  • Selection in Pre BLC, DCATC–I, DCATC–II, DCATA–III, Marksmanship, Trekking Camp: Fee concession worth Rs.2,500 per year.

Category (C)

  • Military Attachment Camp, Army Attachment Camp, ATC + Regular attendance in NCC Parades, RDC (Gandhi Ground), any other Local Level Camp: Fee concession worth Rs.1,000 per year.

Under Cadets Welfare Society Scholarship, 1,000 scholarships of Rs.6,000 each is given to the cadets. Awards for Best Cadet with a cash prize of Rs.4,500 and CM & Governor Awards with a cash prize of Rs.3,000 are given to the deserving cadets.

Job Opportunities: Preference is given to NCC cadets in recruitment to State Police Force, Paramilitary Forces, Army, Air & Naval Wing.

Adventure Opportunities: Cadets visit places in India during Trekking, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, All India Leadership Training & Republic Day Camps

Youth Exchange Programme: Students are sent to different states of India and abroad under this programme.
