The camp was conducted with the central theme “Youth for MYBharat and Digital Literacy” and witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers. It aimed to promote community engagement, social responsibility and awareness among youth.

The camp commenced with a Havan Yajna, followed by awareness lectures on Voter Awareness. A wide range of outreach and welfare activities were carried out in the adopted village Malawali. These included tie-and-dye workshops to promote vocational skills and wall paintings conveying the message “Say No to Drugs”, created by students, under the guidance of Dr. Aditi Jain, Department of Fine Arts. Tree plantation drives, dental check-up camps, and the distribution of stationery, clothing and daily-use items were also organised in the adopted village Malawali.

Ms. Surbhi Sethi, NSS Programme Officer, conducted sessions on environmental conservation and cleanliness, emphasising the importance of reducing plastic consumption. Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal, NSS Programme Officer, addressed issues related to drug abuse, preventive measures against dog bites, and strategies for maintaining a healthy and purposeful lifestyle. In addition, informative sessions on cyber safety and water conservation were conducted, educating participants about safe online practices and the importance of preserving water resources, thereby further raising awareness within the community.

Cultural and creative initiatives, including a nukkad natak titled “Screen & Sanskar,” which highlighted the erosion of traditional values among youth in the digital age, and a “Best out of Waste” workshop, significantly engaged participants, nurtured creativity, and effectively communicated socially relevant messages, thereby amplifying the overall impact of the camp. A tie-and-dye workshop conducted by Dr. Beenu Kapoor fostered creativity and skill development among village students.

The volunteers also visited Bhai Kanhaiya Ji Old Age Home, where they distributed essential items, interacted with the inmates and planted fruit saplings, spreading joy and compassion.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia appreciated the dedicated efforts of the NSS volunteers, Programme Officers and the NSS team. She stated that such camps play a vital role in nurturing socially responsible citizens by strengthening moral values, leadership skills and empathy, while aligning youth with national initiatives such as MYBharat and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
