BBK DAV College for Women celebrated 79th Independence Day with great patriotic fervor. Subedar Rajendra Singh, Junior Commission Officer, 9 Punjab Battalion, NCC, Amritsar, hoisted the National Flag on this momentous occasion. Hawaldar S. Srnivasulu was the Guest of Honour for the event.
The hoisting was followed by an oath-taking ceremony for a drug-free India under “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”. A street play titled “Azaad Bharat” was also performed to mark the nation’s 79th year of independence.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia welcomed the Chief Guest with a sapling and congratulated the staff and students on this auspicious occasion. She said that our soldiers are our pride, and are the living embodiment of courage, commitment, and patriotism. In his address, Chief Guest Subedar Rajendra Singh said that the future of India rests in the hands of youth. He appealed to the youth to keep their dedication unshakable, and their commitment towards the nation lifelong. Advocate Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Committee, delivered the vote of thanks and urged the youth to contribute to nation-building with honesty and integrity.
