Ved Parchar Saptah concluded at BBK DAV College for Women by performing pious Havan Yajna. Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, MLA, Amritsar North was the chief guest for the event During the week-long event, various competitions like debate, poster making, painting, and poetry recitation were organized. A workshop on importance of Havan yajna was also conducted.
While welcoming the guests, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that the college celebrates Ved Parchar Saptah every year to instill Vedic values amongst the students. She added that Arya Samaj and DAV have always worked toward eradication of social evils from the society. As the nation celebrates 75 years of independence, DAV remains committed toward social welfare and women empowerment through education.
In his address, Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh said that teachers not only guide students in academics or extracurricular activities, but are also responsible for imparting knowledge, good values and traditions in them.
An exhibition highlighting the agony, suffering and pain of millions of people who suffered displacement during partition on both the sides of the border was displayed. PG Department of Fine Arts and Department of Applied Art also displayed an exhibition in which portraits of freedom fighters were put up.
Mr. Vipin Bhasin, Member, LMC, thanked the guests for sparing their valuable time for the event.
Members of Arya Samaj Col. Ved Mittal, Sh. Rakesh Mehra, Sh. Murali Lal, Sh. Inderjit Thukral, Sh. Sandeep Ahuja, as well as Mrs. Pallavi Sethi, Principal DAV Public School and Mrs. Balbir Kaur Bedi, along with other members of staff, were also present during the event.
