BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised Painting My Grandparents and Slogan Writing Competitions under the State Awareness Campaign ‘Sade Bajurg Sada Maan’ initiated by the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development, Punjab, in which Ms. Alka Kalia, SDM, Amritsar-1, was the chief guest. The event aimed to sensitise students about the importance of elders in society and to promote respect, care, and emotional bond with grandparents.

In her address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia lauded the initiative and emphasised the need to strengthen intergenerational bonds in today’s fast-paced world as grandparents are the custodians of tradition, culture, and moral values. She further added that such competitions not only nurture artistic talent but also instill empathy, respect, and social responsibility among young minds, as well as help them recognise their contribution to family and society at large.
